Safenet Sentinel and Software license backup
I have to help a company that has a software running in 3 computers. The software is protected by Safenet Sentinel dongle (one computer) and by a dongle-less license (two computers).
One of the computers had a hard disk malfunction and its license is lost. Is it possible to back-up the safenet sofware license to avoid losing the second computer? I had difficulty to find a tutorial to emulate the other computer's dongle. I checked testprotect.com and it appears to be one of the possible solutions. Is this a good way to go or are there better options? |
What is dongle-less license type?
Is it HASP SL? You can check it here: http://localhost:1947/_int_/devices.html |

Is there any typical file or directory location I should search for? Additional Info: When you run the software on the other computer without the dongle it opens a small window to offer you the chance to run with a password. In that case, in the next window it shows you a PC ID number and allows the password to be entered. Is there any way to learn how the PCID was generated and how to create a password? |
Seems it is custom protection.
You need find and analyze the code how the PCID generating and the password checking. |
So, if it does not answer to 1947, it could answer to other ports.
The computer with no dongle does not answer in any port, but I checked also the computer with the dongle and found the following informations: System address: http://localhost:6002 shows: Sentinel Protection Server Version 7.6.0 Key type SuperPro USB Also: System address: http://localhost:7002/configuration.html shows: Sentinel Keys License Monitor v1.3.1 SKLM Port : 7002 Server Port: 7001 sntlkeyssrvr.exe uses ports 7001 and 7002 spnsrvnt.exe uses ports 6001, 6002 and 1071 |
