Default Need help with SafeNet Inc. Hardlock Key

Hi there,

I want to emul the Dongle for a Software named Viega Engineering
http://www.viega.de/xchg/de-de/hs.xsl/7470.htm

I'm pretty sure that the dongle itself is a Hardlock one, since that is how it's shown in the device manager when plugged in.

I have a working dump for Windows 7 x86, created by the How-To from here
http://www.reteam.org/board/showpost...9&postcount=77

However, I want to run this under a x64 environment and I'm unable to achieve that using the various recommendations or guidings found in this great forum.

I've created two files with hl_dump under W7x86:
-xxxx.dat and xxxx.reg
I've tried to change the .reg files content to match one of the examples given in the multikey 18.2.3 folder.

when I execute the install file everything seems to work.
I get a little pop-up where I'm asked if I want to install that unsigned driver. and right after that I have a Virtual USB Multikey listed in the device manger - which seems to function properly - and another MultiKey item with a yellow exclamation mark.
and everytime I execute this install file again it shows new hardware detected but no driver found :S

Not sure what I'm missing here, but it might be my reg file that I've not altered correctly.

Ideas welcome!
Please let me know what you need in order to advise and I'd be only too happy to supply you with what I have.

Thanks Thomas

@gewolftes
Convert your .dat file to reg use UniDumpToReg.exe, than match the reg to the mk example folder.....
also find the correct seed-3

read again u might b missing cd /d %~dp0 in install.bat. Just add this line before anything in install.bat and run it

Thumbs up

[Please DO NOT quote whole messages, it is unnecessary]

I did that before, however wasn't sure if I modified my reg correctly.
Also there were 3 hardlock examples and I was unsure which one to choose...well I believe I did it for the 3 of them but neither one worked...maybe due to the combination of all of them now sitting in the registry.

Well I've a clean windows 7 x64 OS setup again to do whatever is required to get it working.

Thanks though!!

Hi everyone...

don't ask me what I did, but it's working now.

I just did the sames steps again but on a clean W7x64 install and it's now working fine and I'm more than happy now!

I believe the root cause for my previous failures was my mix up between the other registry examples.

Here's my step-by-step guide for those of you that're facing the same issue.

1. UAC needs to be disabled -> restart required!
2. Add your registry file to the registry
3. enable Test Mode using Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider
(dseo13b.exe) -> always Run As Administrator -> restart required
4. sign multikey.sys using dseo13b.exe -> restart?!
5. start cmd.exe as administrator
navigate to your Multikey64 folder and run install.bat

After that the system found 2 new objects and installed the drivers properly.

btw. I am running the W7x64 in a VMWare Environment, so that works and is having no negativ impact.

Hope the above helps others as well.

Thank you for all your suggestions!!
Rgds.
Thomas
