Default Welcome to the Reverse Engineering Team Forums.

Welcome to the forums, it is my goal here, to create a somewhat popular web board which will be widely used by reversers around the globe to actually share their knowledge and work together. Over the past while I think that we can all agree that the amount of knowledge passed between one another has greatly decreased. These days the phrase 'read the fuckin manual' is widly used and those who do know a fair bit and indeed have a great amount to teach others, rather choose not to and to keep an 'edge' on the others. Everyone is in this for their own. But here I want things to be different. If people have questions of me I will be more than happy to help out any way that I can, and I should hope that all of you will do the same as well. That is not to say that this will be a beginners forum. Beginners I should hope will go forth to other websites and read as much as they can before submitting on our forums, but in time i hope that they would also do so. Lets work together here. And to start, perhaps a few proposals of ideas is in order for upcoming projects for the reversing community to look into. However we should start out should be molded quite quickly by the reactions and the attitudes of this board's members, and we shall wait and see where these directions might take us. Welcome to the Reverse Engineering Team, stay as long as you like.

Regards,

Devine Right [RET]

RET is looking good... i like the website though hopefully flash will load faster in the future, right now a bit slow for me at least... hopefully sections are filled up too ...

And you guys definitely need to spread the word more, few people have heard about it yet... looks like i am the first few registered members ...

cheers,

Default Good start

Hoi,

Looks like theres a good start, the people currently here are active and original. I've never been one for forums, but the way it's going I might just become heavily addicted

Hi!

I saw the link to your homepage at mala's site, so I immediately tried to get here, but ...

since I am using Linux most of the time, the SWF stuff at http://ret.mine.nu/ didn't say too much to me. Mala wrote on his page that there are some boards here, but there was no plain HTML link to this forum at your main site.

Well, anyway ...

$ lynx -source http://ret.mine.nu/top.swf | strings | grep http

returned:

http://ret.didjitalyphrozen.com/board/index.php

Although the reverse engineering here is Windows-heavy, you should maybe put a HTML-only link to this board at your homepage, just in case ...

Heh, I love this guy

Well, I was thinking about an essay on "web browsing from the command line" and this seems a great example for it... I'll post a new thread about it in another board where it will be on-topic (I hope )

Default Migration

Thanx for setting this up. It's a beaut!
I'm not sure that i don't count as a beginner.
(it took me over an hour to register ;-)

I like the style. I like the ethos.

I've got stuff to contribute.
I will give my all.
My inspiration: the mighty +ORC, the mighty Fravia+,
the mighty jeff, the mighty +Forseti etc etc... All good fellas...

There is sooooo much i want to say and talk about, but for now...
let's just get down to business:

Upcoming projects (one can never re-hash in this sphere)
3D Studio Max.

You got to hand it to them. Don't ya?

Every release i've had stopped working after a while.
Lord knows most the cracks and distros going round are
hard enough to install for the newbie in the first place.

...And then i couldn't re-install it. Different version.
Different computer. Happened again. mmm.. Clever!
I am ignorant and want a second opinion.
Don't those 'Discreet' boys push the boat out, just a little
bit as far as copyright protection goes?
As i see it, they employ it on about five or six different
levels - as opposed to one or two for most people.
Am i wrong?

Latest blunder:
3DS Max 4.
Things went awry after installing Direct X 9 for me.
(necessary for some cutting edge audio software i installed)
We're getting into DRM here, right?

Anyway, stopped working.
Could not re-install.

Mucho research and findings later.....
THANKYOU Regmon: You changed the way
i look at what a computer is. The fact that you do
Page defrag as well and give it all away for free only
goes in your favour. (i wonder what sysinternals
consultancy fees are, these days. Whatever, they are
worth it - thanks Mark. Thanks Bryce.)

Anyhow. Sneaky mofos...Discreet... indeed!
Would you be interested in this?
Am i the only one that finds this little proggy a bitch of the
highest degree? (i'm just talking about installing and getting
to work here, not even cracking). Though that is obviously
the goal! But it's been done.

Usually, in fact, always, i say: Buy the f***ing Software if you
can afford it, BUT, these mothers have made my life such a misery :-)
Instead, now i say: "Buy Lightwave - it's half the price and twice
as easy to use". Sorry, just being bitter. eh eh.

i'd love to get into the intricacies of cdilla and multi-version
keygens with y'all. Not to mention Authorization codes based
on unique id's, encrypted to secret locations. Having more than one
compo helps!

Having only one (or indeed half) brain, doesn't.

Welcome to the machine.

I've felt it my whole life....

Like a splinter in my mind.........

this will not help you in your cracking endeavors, but just in case you did not know.

maya has an educational version of their software. ( the download is free) you can also buy it and a training video for free. a friend bought the 20.00 package(at the time the free download was not available, it is now).

softimage also has a free download of their educational version. and the most interesting part. they have ported it to linux.(have not tried the linux version yet, it is on the todo list).

yes lightwave is a good package and also pretty easy, actually it is my preferred 3d tool. if you can use lightwave it will not be hard to convert to maya. softimage i find a little more difficult, perhaps no more that 3dmax.

if you just are looking to crack 3dmax. then crack it. after you are done. highlight both the crack and the application then hold down shift and push the delete key.

in my opinion there is no reason to keep or release such a crack. you should be satisfied with knowing your cracked it. why not release the crack you may be wondering. simple. it may seem that you are harming them, but in a way you are still advertising them.

if they are willing to give, for free, such great and expensive tools we should be willing to use them. besides i have yet to see something created in 3dmax that could not be reproduced in one of these other packages.

on top of all that you obviously hate 3dmax. you are only one keyboard key away from solving your turmoil. of coarse you may want to crack it first.
have fun.
