I can't resist a quick "I told you so" . Authors of free stuff will almost always respond to feedback. Tell them about a bug, as you did, and the result is a fix. The nice thing is that the fix is not just for you, it is for everybody, including, probably, people suffering from the same bug and not knowing what the cause is. Well done.

Unfortunately, the author has made much more use of VMProtect which he started using on a smaller scale in the last release. I don't know what he thinks there is to protect as there are no big secrets in it. The unfortunate downside is that it takes more memory and gets very very much slower.
